Support For The Autistic Community
Support Built Around Real Life

At The A World UK, support means making things easier to access.
Many autistic people and families face barriers when trying to enjoy everyday experiences. Support, for us, is about removing some of those barriers and creating spaces where people can take part without feeling judged, rushed, or out of place.
We do not offer drop-in services or formal interventions. Our focus is on creating opportunities where the autistic community can spend time together, feel included, and enjoy experiences that are often difficult to access.

What Support Looks Like at The A World UK

Support at The A World UK is practical and based on everyday needs.
Rather than offering appointments, drop-in services, or small group sessions, our support focuses on making experiences easier to access.
This means:
-
Clear information shared in advance
-
Events that are planned with autistic people and families in mind
-
Fewer rules and expectations placed on how people should behave
-
Support that fits around real life, not the other way around

Our aim is to make experiences feel manageable and enjoyable, rather than stressful.

Who Our Support is For

Our support is for the autistic community, including:
-
Autistic children
-
Autistic teenagers
-
Autistic adults
-
Families, carers, and siblings
You do not need a referral to access our support.
However, to ensure our support reaches the autistic community it is intended for, you will need either an autism diagnosis or proof that you are on the diagnostic pathway.

Creating Safe And Inclusive Spaces

Many autistic people and families have experienced anxiety, exclusion, or judgement during traditional days out.
By working directly with venues, we are able to reduce some of the pressures that can make public spaces overwhelming.
This includes providing environments where people can:
-
Feel comfortable being themselves
-
Take breaks or step away when needed
-
Explore at a pace that works for them
-
Spend time together without fear of judgement

These small changes help create spaces where families can relax and focus on enjoying time together.

Support Without Labels or Expectations

We understand that autism looks different for everyone.
People attending our events are not expected to explain their needs, follow strict rules, or take part in a particular way. Support should feel natural and respectful, not formal or complicated.

How Our Support is Made Possible

Our support is funded through a community-led model that includes:
-
Community store income
-
Fundraising initiatives
-
Lottery and supporter contributions
This approach allows us to continue offering inclusive opportunities while keeping costs as low as possible for families.
