The support below is for families living within the Salford area.
SIASS (Salford Information Advice and Support Services)
Every borough has a duty of care to have their own IASS (Information Advice and Support Services). IASS offer information, advice and support to children, young people and parents about special educational needs and disability. This includes matters relating to health and social care. There role is to ensure that your views are heard, understood and respected. They are a free, dedicated, confidential and impartial service offering a single point of regular and consistent contact. They can explain how special educational needs are identified and assessed and who you should talk to. They can also tell you what your rights and responsibilities are. |
Local Offer
Again every borough also has the responsibility to provide a 'Local Offer' - A Local Offer gives children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities and their families information about what support services the local authority think will be available in their local area. |
