FAQ - Land of Lights Festival

What is the eligibility criteria to request tickets?

As a non-profit organisation supporting the autistic community within the North of England, those wishing to request tickets MUST currently reside within the North of England, and at least one member of your group MUST have either an autism diagnosis or be on the autism pathway.

What will I need to request tickets?

When requesting tickets you MUST upload either a autism diagnosis letter OR a referral letter stating that the recipient is on the pathway. 

​

What proof do you accept?

  • Diagnosis documents either NHS or private.

  • A dated referral letter stating that the recipient is on the pathway.

  • Appointment letter that states recipient has an autism diagnosis. 

  • A letter from your doctor stating that the recipient has an autism diagnosis. 

  • EHCP's where it states that the recipient has an autism diagnosis. 

 

What we do NOT accept as proof?

  • DWP letters.

  • Screenshots from the NHS app.

  • Blue Badges.

  • Cinema/Access cards.

Are the tickets available on a first come, first serve basis?

Yes, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria and have uploaded the correct proof.​

What time does the event start?

All guests will be given a time slot from 4:30pm- 5:15pm to enter the festival. This has been done to stagnate arrival times so queuing is reduced significantly. The festival will run until 7:30pm which gives all guests at least 2 hours to enjoy the experience. Typically you can expect to spend approximately 90 minutes leisurely strolling the 1 mile trail.

Why are we being given an arrival time?

To ensure that the event is autism friendly, we have put this system in place to prevent large numbers of people arriving at the same time allowing us to prevent queues.

When will I receive our arrival time?

Your arrival time will be printed on your ticket, which you should receive 2-4 weeks prior to the event via email.

Can we request tickets for siblings as well?

Yes. We ask that you only request tickets for immediate family i.e. parents/carers and siblings. To ensure more families can benefit from the event. 

​

Can I book hotel accommodation as well as park entry tickets?

Unfortunately, we will not be offering hotel packages during the Land of Lights event, however you can check whether Gulliver's have availability in their hotel directly via their website.

Do I need to buy a ticket for my baby who is less than 1 year old?

Yes. Every person that will be attending the event requires to purchase a ticket regardless of age.

Do carers need to buy a ticket?

Yes. Every person that will be attending the event requires to purchase a ticket.

What can we expect at the Land of Lights Festival event?

You can discover gigantic lanterns across 12 magical dream worlds which will be bursting with colour, energy, and illumination. You will be inspired by animal kingdoms, mega monuments, and seasonal celebrations.

A special Jurassic zone will even feature ‘living dinosaurs’. And there will also be street food, a licensed bar, and stunning light installations.

How long can I expect the experience to last?

This will largely depend upon your own walking pace. You may choose to spend time observing additional entertainments along the route, or to enjoy some seasonal drinks and snacks.
You can typically expect to spend approximately 90 minutes leisurely strolling the 1 mile trail, immersing amidst the atmosphere and snapping those insta-worthy selfies.

Does the attraction use strobe lighting?

While there is no strobe lighting in use along the trail, some lantern features do include flashing, twinkling and colour changing lights.

Will all rides be operating as normal?

During the Land of Lights Festival you will not have access to the Gulliver's theme park. 

​

Can I bring my dog?

Sorry, no dogs allowed on site other than registered assistance dogs.

Is the attraction wheelchair and pushchair friendly?

Yes, the whole route is on firm ground and mostly flat with some very slight inclines, Accessible toilets are available along the route. Will you be offering transport to and from the event?

As with all of our events, we do not offer transport, everyone attending is expected to make their own way to and from the event.

​

Am I able to get a refund or transfer my tickets?

Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are unable to attend but would like to gift your tickets to another family, please get in touch with our bookings team who will be able to allocate your tickets to another family on our waiting list.
